Christmas Challenge
Help double donations to Asylum Justice this Christmas
We are taking part in our first Big Give Christmas Challenge, and we need pledgers to help unlock matched funding.
Asylum Justice is preparing to take part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge for the first time. The Christmas Challenge is Big Give’s flagship seven-day online match funding campaign, giving charities the chance to have donations doubled during the campaign week.
To make this possible, we first need to build a pledge pot of £5,000 before the campaign begins.
These pledges help unlock Champion funding from Big Give partners, creating a combined match funding pot that can be used to double public donations made during the Christmas Challenge.
Why pledge
Asylum Justice is a specialist charity working to protect the rights of people seeking asylum, refugees and vulnerable migrants in Wales. We provide free, independent legal advice and representation to people navigating complex and urgent immigration and asylum issues, particularly where they are unable to access legal aid or secure other representation.
Our work helps people understand and exercise their rights, challenge unjust decisions, avoid destitution or wrongful removal, reunite with family members, and move towards safety, stability and dignity. In a shrinking advice sector, our support is often the last place people can turn for specialist immigration advice and representation.
How pledging works
A pledge is a promise of support towards our match funding pot. Pledges are only paid if Asylum Justice receives donations during the campaign. If we are successful in the Challenge, your pledge will help make it possible for public donations to go further and have twice the impact.
The pledge deadline is 28 August 2026. Pledge payments must be made between 8 December 2026 and 15 January 2027.
Can you help us reach £5,000 in pledges?
Every pledge, large or small, will help us build the match funding pot we need to take part in this campaign. By pledging your support, you can help Asylum Justice raise more for free legal advice and representation for people seeking sanctuary and safety in Wales.
